The Widow’s Foundation

Welcome to The Widow’s Foundation

The Widow’s Foundation is a privately funded multi-disciplinary, multi-lingual organisation which exists solely to empower, advise and support widows through complex legal, financial and healthcare challenges during the grieving process.  The (unexpected) loss of a spouse, or loss of a parent in childhood, can be extremely harrowing without the right support.  This expertise can all too often be inaccessible or unaffordable. Where social services fall short of social need, we aim to minimise the potential for difficulty or hardship during, and after, bereavement.  We will also aim to address multi-jurisdictional and multi-lingual problems facing widowed expatriates all over Europe.

Through collaboration with non-profit and professional organisations, accountants, lawyers, notaries, financial experts, tax specialists and health care specialists, we will strive to ensure that widows have easy access to expertise that may, otherwise, be beyond their reach.  This practical advice, support and training will empower members to develop skills in dealing with similar challenges in the future.

The foundation will also aim to elucidate social health issues, pertinent to this demographic, so as to positively influence policy and ensure that the gap between social support and social need is efficiently addressed.  Multi-lingual and multi-jurisdictional online content is continually being developed and updated.

Please note:  In 2020 the foundation will transition from pro bono consultations to online/virtual support.  Please contact us for details of our Advisory Committee or details of a volunteer in your jurisdiction.  All consultations are strictly confidential and your details will never be shared with third parties.
